In conjunction with South Ogden City’s 75th Anniversary, a contest was held inviting artists from across the state to submit mural design concepts for the city’s iconic one million gallon water tanks. After a community and city counsel vote, the winning design was chosen and preparations were made to transfer the design onto the giant towers. The images were first projected and traced onto the towers and then hand painted over a 2 week period by dozens of volunteers. The project took a total of 2 years from start to finish, the completion date being October 12, 2012. The towers welcome all who pass, standing as a friendly reminder of the year-round beauty that is found in the city of South Ogden.
